A brief stop at the Phoenix Desert Botanical Gardens was just the sort of tranquil day I was looking for. An opportunity to stroll through some local desert fauna, learn a bit about what I will find on my future hikes here, and even break the camera out for some fun shots. Not only was there SOOOO much to see and walk through here but I also learned my new favorite species of agave - the Artichoke Agave (middle photo).

Between the diverse desert landscapes presented here and the displayed artwork these gardens will defiantly be getting a return visit from me when the desert decides to bloom this spring!

Enjoy a favorite shot of mine from a mini photoshoot I had with myself while strolling through the Cactus Garden.

Just some more of me being happy in the desert! :)
