Springtime at Saguaro Lake

As the weather here in Arizona starts to warm it reminds me of Michigan Summers and all my happy days spent lakeside; be it beaching it at Lake Michigan or pontooning it at my family's lake house with family and friends. Regardless, after a long road trip week with the parents - that's exactly what I found myself craving: being by the water!
Saguaro Lake
If you tell anyone here in Phoenix that you want to go to the beach - they immediately think you're planning a trip to Mexico. Even though the ocean is just a few short hours away this still struck me as odd because there are a handful of large mountain lakes around the city. While they are not "beaches", I was not feeling particularly picky about my waterfront so they were sufficient for me! And based on a photo of Saguaro Lake I had stumbled across online - it was going be just what I needed!
So, with a whole day open to hiking and exploring - I headed off to the Butcher Jones Recreational Area for the Butcher Jones Trail! It was a crazy warm day but the breeze off the lake made it a perfect day for hiking. And perfection is exactly what I found when I got out there!

Super Bloom
If you didn't know any better; I bet you'd have never guessed the above photo was taken in the middle of Arizona - it was hard for me to believe when I first saw it! The best part of this trail wasn't even that view - but rather the fact that I hiked it in the middle of the Arizona Super Bloom. Just about everything was blooming while I was out there and it was all absolutely gorgeous!
See the gallery below for some of my favorite shots of all the flowers I found while hiking!
Favorite Shots
Two of my absolute favorite shots of the entire hike (minus the first one of the canyon) are the following two! They are the same shot just in different focus' but they just shows how overwhelming the blooms were within the scenery!

This last photo was my phone and laptop wallpaper for weeekkkssss after I took it! It's probably one of my favorite AZ shots to date!
